A Chinese city has come up with a novel invention, by mounting more than a dozen brooms on a tractor creating a street-cleaning machine.

The street cleaner, which has become a source of amusement for tourists in Qinghuangdao city, in the province of Hebei province, however, can only move litter and dust to the side of the street where another has to clear it later.

"I couldn't believe what I was seeing, but it was really cleaning the street", said a passer-by.

The motorized street-sweeper works on more than a dozen brooms attached to a machine which turns clockwise or counter-clockwise.
