A Beijing man says his cat, two-year-old Agui, says his own name when he gets scared. The man, Mr. Sun, says he discovered his pet's talent while attempting to give him a bath.

According to Star Daily, Sun said, "Last year I was helping him take a bath, and he was scared of the water. After couple of 'miaow's, I heard a clear 'Agui.'"

"At first I doubted what I was hearing, but he kept calling his name, very clearly, and sounding like a child."

Sun says that his cat has been saying his name whenever he is afraid ever since the day he first pronounced it.

Agui's greatest fears include baths and getting shots at the vet. He also sometimes gets frightened while he's walking around outside.

Sun pretended to give the cat a bath while at the Fangzhuang Pet Hospital, and the cat did say "Agui" when he thought he was going to get wet.

A spokesman at the hospital said hearing his name so many times may have created an impression on Agui that emerges when he's anxious.

"If the owner can give him systematic training, the cat should be able to speak more Chinese," the spokesman said.
