A Chinese soldier has been fined for stealing from the happiest place on earth, Disneyland.

According to Ming Pao Daily, a soldier stationed in Hong Kong stole a Mickey Mouse key ring from Hong Kong Disneyland.

Zhang Qinggang, 27, is charged by a Tsuen Wan Magistrates' Court with theft and orders him to pay $129 USD ($1,000 HKD) for the $4.50 key ring.

According to reports, the People's Liberation Army soldier was shopping at the theme park with his wife when a security guard spotted him slipping the key ring into a carrier bag.

PLA troops have moved into Hong Kong since the British left in 1997, and according to the paper, the theft was an isolated event, not indicative of China's overall presence on the island.
