A couple of pro-Tibetan protesters in London launched their own demonstration on Tuesday by targeting 12 Chinese Terracotta soldiers on display at the British Army museum. Martin Wyness and Mark Trepte snuck into the museum and hung placards saying "Stop Killing Tibetans" and "Boycott the Chinese Olympics" around the necks of the two 2,200-year-old statues.

Excitement, enthusiasm, and national pride are running high among local Chinese in anticipation of the Beijing 2008 Olympics Games, a survey released Monday revealed. The survey 'Project 2008 Poll, conducted for public relations and advertising company Ogilvy in China and Milward Brown ACSR, showed that 74 percent of Chinese were "excited or very excited" about China hosting its first Olympics and a high degree of "national pride" in the games, prevails among 72 percent who said they were proud of China.

A construction worker buried under a wall of mud managed to survive the ordeal, allegedly through the act of meditation and positive thinking. The worker, 52-year old Wang Jianxin, was reportedly digging a ditch in eastern China when the wall came down on him, with him being buried with nothing other than his safety helmet for protection.

A campaign that calls for better etiquette from local policemen was launched in Beijing. Citizens, through the campaign, are calling for law enforcers to use words such as "good morning" and "please" upon pulling over a motorist. According to reports, this pro-courtesy campaign also asks that policemen greet drivers with salutes and "etiquette words. "

An official from the Chinese government stated that the country is expecting a mad rush of people looking to get hitched on the opening day of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Speculations are circling around the superstition that the date of the Olympics - August 8, 2008 (8-8-08) - as bearing what many Chinese consider the number of luck.
