A careless error of a computer technician reformatting a disc drive at the Alaska Department of Revenue wiped out data containing $38 billion of state funds. With just one stroke on the computer keyboard, the computer technician, doing routine maintenance work, deleted information for applicants on the oil-funded account, one of Alaska residents biggest perks. Worst, the technician also mistakenly reformatted the back-up drive.

An escaped chimp named Judy was so hungry that she raided a kitchen cupboard, but made sure that she cleaned the toilet and scrubbed the refrigerator before authorities caught her. The 120-pound chimpanzee escaped at the Little Rock Zoo Tuesday into a service area when a zookeeper opened a door to her sleeping quarters, without being aware of Judy's presence. As the authorities tried to sedate Judy, she played havoc with a refrigerator where chimp snacks are stored, opened kitchen cupboards and pulled out juice and soft drinks. She also managed to have a sip or two from the soft drinks.
