The Catholic Church in Poland is investigating church collaborators who assisted the communist-era secret police. Church officials will work with historians to review secret police files which are now declassified, to find evidence of collaboration.

A man giving his confession to a priest in Pfarrkirchen, Germany handed him a machine gun and a hand grenade. "He also gave the priest a cardboard box with a clown's face and the words 'Red Nose Day March 26, 2004' on it containing 34 cartridges of 7. 65 mm caliber," Bavarian police said in a statement.

Police in Connecticut are investigating reports of bottle tampering at a store linked to tainted juice that sickened dozens last week. Investigators say that the grape juice that sickened communicants at a Baptist church was deliberately contaminated. Police say they've partially shut down the CVS store as a precaution, and have notified other stores in the Darien, Connecticut, area. The alleged bottle-tampering was noted during an inventory check. Police say several different brands and types of juice were involved.

Archaeologists have discovered what may be the oldest remains of African slaves in the Americas. They were found in a graveyard dating between the late-16th century and mid-17th century in Mexico. This was shortly after Columbus first landed in the Americas, reports LiveScience. com.
