Reverend Lonnie Latham, leader of the Southern Baptist Convention, has been arrested in a motel parking lot on a lewdness complaint. The Reverend Latham propositioned a plainclothes policemen investigating the area where male prostitutes allegedly frequent. Latham preaches to the congregation at the South Tulsa Baptist Church and is on the executive committee of the Southern Baptist Convention. In the past, he has been a vocal opponent against homosexuality and same-sex marriage.

A gunman barreled through a Sunday evening church service and held up worshippers inside. Nearly 50 people were at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Bel Air when the robber threatened the congregation with a gun and demanded money.

The spirit of Christmas did not deter a thief from taking about $8,000 and checks from a New Jersey church. Police and church officials say a collection basket was placed at the altar of the Church of the Guardian Angels while Monsignor James Moran went to the front door to chat with parishioners.
