A retired dentist is found not guilty Thursday in the death of a 4-month-old boy, who was poisoned after being given weed killer laced with arsenic at a cookout, instead of water. Constantine Pitsas, 77, was charged with involuntary manslaughter in the Aug. 9, 2003, fatal poisoning of Benjamin Glynn. and with seriously injuring the boy's 2-year-old sister, Morgan.

The Catholic Diocese of Austin is investigating a priest who called about 15 children to come forward during an evening Mass so he could prick them with an unsterilized pin. Reverend Arthur Michalka was attempting to demonstrate the pain Jesus suffered during his crucifixion. He says he was trying to teach the children suffering is a part of life. Helen Osman, communications director for the Austin diocese, says no one reacted badly during the incident at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Wednesday night. The priest pricked both adults and children.

An infant born to an unconscious, severely brain-damaged mother has died, according to the family. A family statement says Susan Anne Catherine Torres, born prematurely on August 2, died of heart failure Sunday after emergency surgery to repair a perforated intestine.
