The government of President Hugo Chavez will replace an 8-foot-tall glass monument to Ernesto "Che" Guevara that was smashed by vandals who called the icon a "cold-blooded killer. " The shattered monument, shown Friday on state television, was unveiled less than two weeks ago on Oct. 8 by Vice President Jorge Rodriguez and Cuba's ambassador to Venezuela to mark the 40th anniversary of Guevara's death.

lthough smoking is known to cause numerous health problems, including a shortened life-span, one London woman seems to be immune to the perils of cigarettes. Winnie Langley, who turned 100 on Tuesday, celebrated her century-marking birthday by lighting up her 170,000th cigarette-a feat most would consider to anathema to a long life. However, not for Ms. Lamgley, who has been smoking since 1914, when she was just seven years old.

Police labeled four people subjects of interest after they received free items during a convenience store robbery. A gunman emptied the register inside a Fast Stop convenience store in Kansas City on Monday. During the robbery a male and female couple entered the store.

A north Vancouver condo owner is taking her neighbor to the British Columbia Supreme court for smoking cigarettes on her own patio, which is located beneath the plaintiff's apartment. Maureen Nicholson claims her neighbor's 10 cigarette-a-day habit causes "toxic, noxious, carcinogenic and pungent smoke" to enter her home. She says she has asked her neighbor to stop smoking and has complained to the condominium council in the building.

Police had an easy time tracking down a suspect in an armed robbery case when he left a receipt of the AK - 47 rifle that he purchased some time back. The incident took place on Monday when a man wearing a mask robbed an Orlando Hess station Monday, stealing $75 and two cartons of cigarettes. Upon investigating the scene, police noticed that the robber had left a gun case against a display rack that bore a receipt for a new AK-47 assault rifle.
