A shrimp boat captain successfully delivered a baby 30 miles offshore. Captain Ed Kiesel used a new roll of paper towels and a first aid handbook to successfully deliver Cindy Preisel's baby boy on Tuesday, even though the baby's feet emerged first.

A Democratic candidate who passed away two months ago won over a Republican candidate in the county commissioner's race in Jerauld County. Marie Steichen garnered 100 votes and beat incumbent Republican Merlin Feistner, also of Woonsocket, with 64 votes.

The Applebee's restaurant bartender finally got to cash out the $10,000 tip a customer left her on a $26 bill last weekend. Cindy Kienow said she plans to buy a Jeep with the money. The customer paid with a credit card so the restaurant had to make sure the tip was valid before cashing it out. The franchise owner handed Kienow $6,300 -- the tip after taxes.

A shocked waitress received a $10,000 tip from a customer "who wants her to buy something nice. " Ironically, the regular customer's bill was only $26. According to the Hutchinson News, Cindy Kienow works as a waitress at the Applebee's Bar and Grill located in Hutchinson, Kansas and identifies her customer as a man in his mid-40s.
