A club plans to include nude women in its shows when it opens in a building owned by an Australian church, prompting anger from clergy members.

The Dean of St. David's Anglican Cathedral in Hobart, Tasmania is upset about flyers advertising full frontal nudity at the nightclub.

The church has given the club a notice demanding they cease and desist from featuring nudity. It has threatened to sue if the opening show goes ahead as planned.

Church dean Reverend Lindsay Stoddart says the club is in breach of "moral covenants" in the lease, which say the building cannot be used for "immoral purposes."

Despite the threats, Players Sports Bar proprietor Colin Latham promises the nude show featuring eight "showgirls" will open as planned.

One of the dancers insists they are not being exploited.

Savannah tells the Mercury newspaper, "We are making the most of what we have got... We make sure we are always in control of the situation."
