Braxton Bilbrey, a 7 year-old Arizona boy, swam from Alcatraz Island the site of the infamous former maximum security prison to the city in 47 minutes thus creating the record for the youngest ever to swim in the chilly waters. The young champ was joined by his coach and two other adults for the estimated 2,25km swim on Monday and was greeted at the finish by reporters, photographers and well-wishers.

Wonder kid Budhia Singh on Tuesday entered the Limca Book of Records by covering a 65 km distance from Puri to Bhubaneswar in seven hours. The four-year old is supposedly the first person to cover such a distance at this young age. Hoards of mediapersons reportedly accompanied Budhia in his marathon run. After arriving in Bhubaneswar, he was taken to the local hospital for a thorough medical check-up.

Cheered by thousands, a four-year-old boy dubbed "India's Forrest Gump" who was nearly sold by his impoverished mother ran 65km (40. 365 miles) to enter the country's foremost record book. Budhia Singh, a slum resident from the eastern state of Orissa whose talent was discovered by a local sports coach, was escorted by doctors and 300 cadets of the Central Reserve Police Force, which plans to sponsor his upbringing.
