An Atkinson County High School coach resigns after kicking a student at school when he and other students wouldn't leave the basketball court. Danny Boatright, the coach of the school's varsity boys basketball team, was charged with simple battery after he admitted to kicking a 15-year-old student at the school, says Magistrate Court Judge Hilda James, in an Associated Press report.

Police say a man who broke into a Toronto home passed out on the coach, leaving police with an easy arrest. The homeowner returned Sunday afternoon to find his basement window broken and immediately called police.

A high school football player born without legs was back on the field Saturday after being removed by a referee in a game earlier this month. Colonel White High School senior Bobby Martin, who was born without legs, was sidelined Sept. 16 during a game for not being "fully equipped. "Martin played in his team's previous three games as a member of the punt return squad, using his arms to move down the field.

Local police officers were able to catch a man, who fled an accident site, with the help of some cheerleaders. The cheerleaders witnessed the accident and created a cheer using the license plate numbers. The Lincoln High School varsity cheerleading squad saw the debris from the accident close to the University of Michigan campus.
