A Carbondale, Colo. man who could hear crazy noises in his head was shocked to discover that his skull was infested with fly larvae.

Aaron Dallas suffered from bleeding bumps on his head, which moved and caused terrible irritation to him.

After being told he was suffering from shingles, Dallas could not find much relief to his problem until one day the doctor discovered he had larvae, living in an open pit on his head.

AP quotes Dallas as saying: "I'd put my hand back there and feel them moving. I thought it was blood coursing through my head. I could hear them. I actually thought I was going crazy."

Dallas now assumes he became invested with the parasites while travelling through Belize, Central America. The parasites were found living in the 2mm to 3mm-wide pit.

Though the parasites were finally removed last Thursday, his wife still teases him about the living beings in his head.
