Dian Geist bought a bag of filbert nuts from an open bin at a local Wal-Mart Supercenter, only to find a condom inside one of the shells.
Geist and her husband had a laugh when the bright yellow condom popped out of the nut. She says, "I really don't want it, but my husband wants it back for some reason."
The couple took the nut and the condom back to Wal-Mart, where an assistant manager took pictures before the couple took it to the police.
Now, a bit of online investigation has helped solve the mysterious condom cameo and police chief Daryl Meisner says it appears no crime was committed when someone placed the condom-storing nut in a bin at the store.
Meisner says, "This looks exactly like what I found on the Internet. The condom was new and unused, so it probably wasn't anything malicious. I can't find where any law has been broken."
He says someone drilled a hole in the nut, emptied the shell, and covered the hole with wood putty once the condom had been inserted.
