A baby boy born Tuesday at the William W. Backus Hospital weighed in at nearly 15 pounds, the average size of a 6-month-old. Born to Marie Michel, the infant, Stephon Hendrix Louis-Jean, broke the hospital's 18-year record of the biggest baby, by weighing in at 14 pounds, 13 ounces and measuring nearly 23 inches in length.

"He's built like a linebacker," Dr. David Kalla, who delivered the baby by Caesarean section, told the AP.

Stephon's mom, 36-year-old Michel, said she was happier about having finished giving birth than about all the attention her baby was receiving.

"I was miserable," Michel said of her 9-months of pregnancy. "I couldn't sleep at night. My 13-year-old son had to help me get in and out bed."

However, Michel said she was not surprised at the size of the baby, since four of her other sons were also big babies.

Her now 13-year-old weighed 9 pounds, her 8-year-old twins weighed in at 8 1/2 pounds each and her 3-year-old son weighed nearly 12 pounds at birth.

Michel said her husband, Vijens Louis-Jean, was coming from Florida to see the baby.

Less than 24-hour Stephon is too big for the newborn clothes and diapers.

"I have baby clothes, but I don't think they will be able to fit," Michel said. "I think I will have to return them."
