A pit bull has been credited for saving the life of a 17-year-old girl, Jerrica Seals, from house fire. "She called me screaming," said Leticia Vega, 36, the sister of Seals' boyfriend Javier Garcia, 23, who is the owner of the house.

Lakshmamma, a 75-year-old beggar in the southern Indian town of Devunikadapa has donated $7,548, which she earned over the last thirty years by begging, to a local temple. Lakshmamma, who was once an ordinary wife in the past, has been seeking alms at the entrance of Venkateswara temple since her husband deserted her some thirty year ago. She has saved each penny without spending it on herself, even on food, as she was getting food from the temple.

The state of Florida is stepping in to help buyers who were duped into buying worthless swampland in Florida on the online auction site, eBay. Florida officials say "paper subdivisions" in places like Osceola, Polk, Volusia and Brevard counties contain land which is unsuitable for any construction, yet with names like University Highlands and Suburban Estates, buyers are paying thousands for the lots.

According to the last report of the Washington based, nonprofit organization, TRIP, Michigan's roads and bridges each were poorly graded with a "D. "Although the percentages of Michigan's road conditions that are in need of repair are only slightly higher than those averages across the nation, improvements are badly needed.
