On Wednesday, Percy and Florence Arrowsmith marked their 80th wedding anniversary.
The couple celebrated amongst friends at their Western England home, with coffee and snacks. Even Queen Elizabeth II recognized the achievement, sending them a congratulatory letter, lauding their example as a loving couple.
According to the pair, the secret to longevity is to never go to sleep on an argument, always kiss each other, and holding hands every night before going to bed. The couple counts with three children, six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
The two met at a local church in Hereford, where Percy sang in the choir, and Florence was a Sunday school teacher. They were married June 1, 1925.
The Arrowsmiths hold two Guinness World Records: longest marriage for a living couple and the oldest aggregate age of a married couple. Percy is 105; Florentine, 100.
