Fans from rival football teams profess their love for each other during a game Sunday night, and end up getting engaged. Jim Lang, a 41-year-old New England Patriots fan, proposed to Laura Peters, a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, during halftime of the game at Heinz Field. Peters accepted the proposal.

The animal kingdom's most popular gay couple no longer exists, now that Silo and Roy, the cohabiting penguins of Central Park Zoo, have called it quits. The pair rose to recognition six years ago when they "came out" with their same-sex relationship. Since then, they successfully hatched and raised an adoptive chick, after unsuccessfully trying to incubate a rock.

An Israeli couple who went to India to get married, wound up getting a fine for kissing and embracing in the country which is known for the sexual practice of kama-sutra but also strict rules on public displays of affection. The couple were fined $500-Indian rupees (U. S. $11) each for embracing and kissing after tying the knot in the Hindu holy town of Pushkar in northwestern India, the Asian Age newspaper reported Wednesday.

A retired dentist is found not guilty Thursday in the death of a 4-month-old boy, who was poisoned after being given weed killer laced with arsenic at a cookout, instead of water. Constantine Pitsas, 77, was charged with involuntary manslaughter in the Aug. 9, 2003, fatal poisoning of Benjamin Glynn. and with seriously injuring the boy's 2-year-old sister, Morgan.
