Swedish researchers say viewing and talking about art may not only soothe the soul, but may also have the added health benefit of curing ailments like high blood pressure and constipation. Britt-Maj Wikstroem of the Ersta Skoendal University College in Stockholm had 20 women around the age of 80 years gather once a week for four months to discuss various works of art.

An 8-year-old little girl with a compassionate heart and very loose tooth found a creative way to help people displaced by the hurricanes. Briton Nordmeyer of Brandon, South Dakota mailed her tooth to the Red Cross chapter in Sioux Falls, in hopes the tooth fairy would leave money with the charity instead of under her pillow.

CareerBuilder. com's annual survey of missed workdays finds that 43 percent of employees say they called in sick with bogus excuses at least once during the last year; up from last year's 35 percent. The survey also shows some hiring managers are catching on, with 23 percent saying they'd fired an employee for missing work without a legitimate reason.
