A man was accidentally shot in the arm after a rescuer tried to free him from the jaws of a crocodile in Northern Australia. Police said Jason Grant was collecting crocodile eggs near a popular tourist spot on the Mary River, near Darwin, when he was attacked by the reptile.

A saltwater crocodile in Australia spent overnight in jail for troublemaking. Authorities in Nhulunbuy, Northern Australia were forced to lock the crocodile in an unused cell after finding no other options to hold off the seven-foot reptile. Police responded to reports about a crocodile harassing fishermen at a local boat ramp.

A drunk tourist swimming in a river in Queensland, was attacked by a crocodile and was able to stave it off. Shockingly after emerging from the river after a fierce fight with the reptile, he fell asleep at his campsite because he had too many drinks prior. According to a local newspaper, Matt Martin sustained gashes to his face after the encounter.

A 22-year-old Saudi youth shocked security officers at Cairo airport with his bagful of snakes, baby crocodiles and chameleons. Alarmed by the odd readings of his bags at the departure gate, the officers searched the bags and found the mass of slithery creatures to their horror.

A number of fishermen in Giza reported that a crocodile assaulted their boats recently, mentioning that the animal is 16 feet or five meters in length. No human injuries were reported although eyewitnesses said that they saw the animal sneak back into the Nile at night, eating a dog that happened to be there along the way. Nile crocodiles are the largest African crocodilian. A normal sized male weighs up to 1,100 pounds or 500 kilos. The average pressure exerted by a male Nile crocodile bite is about 3,000 pounds per square inch.
