A man is charged with robbing a restaurant after its employees chased him down and gave him a beating with branches and pool cues.

Late Friday, two men wearing ski masks came into Palomas Restaurant and Cantina armed with handguns and swiped $170 as employees were cleaning up.

A man at an adjacent bar heard the shots ring out and tried to lock the robbers in. That didn't work, however, so he chased the robbers into the woods. An owner, employees and customers followed suit, carrying pool cues and tree branches.

Deputies on a traffic stop were alerted to the melee and eventually arrested Anthony Tyrone Baker, 20, who was charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during a violent crime.
