Cypriot women are trying to raise awareness of breast cancer while at the same time gaining a spot in the Guinness Book of Records.
The organizers are attempting to connect up to 100,000 bras on April 30 to form the world's longest chain of bras.
Reuters reports the current record is held by Singapore, where 79,000 bras were linked together.
Louise van Rooij, a Dutch resident of Cyprus, says "It's an odd thing to do, but it's the perfect way to get the message across. Its important that people are aware of the risks, and the need for regular screening."
Women near and far have donated their bras, including the United Kingdom's first female speaker of the House of Commons, Betty Boothroyd.
