David Beckham has refused to star in an advertisement with Angelina Jolie because he is married.

The British soccer star - who recently celebrated his tenth wedding anniversary with wife Victoria - doesn't want to upset his spouse by posing for an Emporio Armani underwear campaign with the stunning Hollywood star, who is in a relationship with Brad Pitt.

He told TV show Extra: "She is an amazing person and so is Brad. They're an incredible couple and they have an amazing family. You know she wouldn't do it and I wouldn't do it."

"At the end of the day, I wouldn't do it because I'm married."

Last week, it was claimed father-of-three David and Angelina - who raises six children with Brad - were set to team up for a steamy set of ads.

David signed a deal with the Italian fashion house in 2007, while Angelina was unveiled as their new female face last month.

A source said: "When you have David Beckham and Angelina Jolie signed up to your fashion house it's a no-brainer to link them up."

"They appeal to a diverse audience and a collaboration would create so much publicity it would push Armani head and shoulders above their rivals."

David has previously posed with Victoria for raunchy underwear adverts for the exclusive label.
