There was an unusual find on a highway in southeastern Sweden as police found a dead camel on the side of the road.

Officers in Sweden say they thought the report was a joke at first, "But when the patrol got there it turned out be completely true," said police spokesman Lars Lindwall.

Judging by the injuries, police believe the animal died after it fell from a trailer it was likely traveling on and was then dragged to death. Police said that they are treating the issue as an animal abuse case and are looking for the camel's owner, reported the Associated Press.
