An Angel Flight New England (AFNE) plane crashed in a supermarket parking lot here Tuesday morning killing the pilot, a cancer patient and his wife. There were no casualties on the ground. Witnesses saw the single-engine plane stalling before nose-diving at the Hannaford's parking lot on Robert Drive near Route 106 at 10:25 a. m. The plane exploded into a fireball.

A man lying amongst corpses in a morgue startled medical examiners when he sat up and asked for a drink of water. Mange Ram, 19, was picked up along with the dead after a stampede at a religious pilgrimage claimed over 100 lives. He told reporters that he awoke surrounded by "a row of bodies," after being crushed under the weight of those involved in the stampede and losing consciousness.

The Italian mountain climber who has been rescued after an avalanche hit the world's second highest peak Friday is under the care of a rescue team and waiting for a helicopter to take them out of K2. Marco Confortola, 37, was the last rescued among the 22 mountain climbers washed away by the avalanche. Some of the mountaineers fell to their deaths, others froze, while 11 are still missing and presumed dead by now.

A teacher and a teenager are both dead after a shoot-out in which the two exchanged gun fire. According to reports, Titus Hill, 19, and an accomplice attempted to rob Sean Ellenberger, 39, outside of his friend's home where he and the friend had just installed a new stereo system in Ellenberger's jeep Cherokee around midnight Saturday.

A 13-year-old Arizona boy opened fire on his mother after an argument, shooting and killing her, police say. According to reports Sunday, the mother and son were arguing before she left the house Friday afternoon with her husband. A sibling was also present during the row. Upon the couple's return, the boy, whose name is not being released because he is a minor, began firing at his mother, shooting her multiple times.
