A dentist is facing lawsuit from a former patient who claims she suffered injuries when he started dancing during a tooth extraction.

Brandy Fanning, 31, alleges the dentist, Dr. George Trusty based at Syracuse Community Health Center, started dancing to Rose Royce's song Car Wash playing on the radio while drilling Fanning's tooth.

He slipped and the drill broke, piercing her sinus cavity before lodging near her eye. The injury caused damage to her nerves and facial swelling.

Fanning says in her federal lawsuit against Trusty that she had to undergo emergency surgery after the accident and had to spend three days in hospital.

She is seeking $600,000 for all past and future medical expenses along with the pain and suffering.

According to Philadelphia Daily News, Fanning says she resorted to a lawsuit because Trusty failed to keep his promise to pay her medical bills.

However, the actual payout Fanning receives could be limited under the 1992 Health Center Act.
