An octogenarian dentist who let a cat roam through his examination rooms has voluntarily surrendered his license and agreed he will never practice dentistry in Washington. Henry G. Kolsrud, 82, also faced an investigation of his office in early 2005 by the Health Department that revealed unsafe and unsanitary conditions.

Prosecutors attempted to force the removal of gold tooth caps from two drug suspects, saying the "grills" were seizable assets. The Associated Press reports that Flenard T. Neal Jr. and Donald Jamar Lewis were in a car heading to the dentist when defense attorney convinced a judge to stop the procedure.

In order to save his life, a veterinarian outfits Hermie the Turtle with a set of braces. Zookeepers at New York State Zoo in Watertown's Thompson Park obtained the turtle in May. They noticed Hermie was having trouble eating. Tests showed he was unable to close his mouth completely, making eating a struggle. His lower jaw was actually growing downward, reports The Associated Press.

An 85-year-old Florida man is the world's oldest hang-glider pilot. Goss picked up hang gliding at 54, and at 85, he is still flying at least once a month at Wallaby Ranch near Orlando. Earlier this year, he earned a spot in the Guinness World Records. The former dentist taught himself to fly by jumping off beach dunes after reading about the sport in Reader's Digest.
