Two men suspected of robbing a pizza delivery woman were arrested after the sheriff deputy investigating the theft smelled the hot pepperoni and sausage pizzas at a home.

The officer, Jimmy Green, sniffed out the suspects as he was asking a witness questions and he smelled the pizzas in the neighboring home.

"It just didn't seem right to Jimmy, and he wanted to take it a step further and went to the witness' residence. That's when Jimmy smelled the aroma of pizza," Maj. Mark Gorbett told the AP.

"I'm sure our K-9 unit wouldn't have hit on the pizza," he said.

Gorbett said the officers noticed a phone book in the house opened to the pizza section and also found the pizzas and cash taken in the robbery. The search also led officers to a knife presumably used by one of the suspects to rob the pizza delivery woman while the other served as a lookout.
