A California graphic artist decides to catalog the colorful and unusual rantings of the official North Korean News Agency, KCNA. Reuters reports KCNA is the only regular source of the views of the secretive government of Kim Jong-il available to diplomats, journalists and scholars. But, there was no way for them to search the archives of KCNA until Geoff Davis, fighting boredom during a rainy San Francisco spring, decided to hone his Web design skills on a topic he followed in news reports on the North Korean nuclear crisis.

Michigan State University now offers students a minor in video games. Beginning next month, the school will offer the Specialization in Game Design and Development program to teach future video game designers.

An engineering student at London's Brunel University has created "smart goggles" for swimmers that log lengths and time. The Inview goggles display a lap count and time elapsed on their lenses so swimmers can track their progress - using a built-in compass to trigger when swimmers complete lap lengths.
