A company specializing in odor control is selling a "thong" that claims to neutralize gassy discharges from dogs. Flat-D Innovations Inc. says on its Web site that The Dog Gas Neutralizing Pad "will eliminate pet odors and dog odors from flautus or flatulence. "

Real Estate developers say the Hayward street address rules may scare off buyers who practice the ancient Chinese tradition of feng shui. The practice aims to provide harmony, well-being, and prosperity in ones living and working space. Under a numbering system established by Alameda County in the 1950s, addresses are assigned based on how far the homes are from downtown Oakland. The method puts five digits on almost every mailbox in Hayward and other cities in the county, and residents complain about them being hard to remember.

A federal judge rules Tuesday "intelligent design" cannot be mentioned in biology class in a Pennsylvania school district. Judge John E. Jones III rules Dover Area School Board members violated the constitution when they ordered its biology curriculum must include the concept that life on Earth was produced by an unidentified intelligent cause.

Police say a 73-year-old man, who received a $5 jaywalking ticket after being struck by a car, later died from his injuries. Charles Atherton, a former secretary of the U. S. Commission on Fine Arts that advises the government on architecture and design in Washington, was hit Thursday while crossing busy Connecticut Avenue.

Rocker Lenny Kravitz is being sued for $10,000 over an overflowing toilet. It's the second lawsuit filed against Kravitz for the August 2004 bathroom mess. The initial suit charged Kravitz' leaking toilet allegedly caused "catastrophic water damage" to a neighbor's apartment and now an insurance company wants the rock star to reimburse it for a $300,000 damage claim.
