At a "Ladies' Night" at the Manchester Monarchs' hockey game, a local jeweler gave away a $2,500 diamond, only to have the winner lose it, then find it again. Jeweler David Bellman gave 1,000 women in attendance; one contained the half-carat diamond, while the others held fake diamonds (cubic zirconia).

After a two year hiatus, diamond hunter Steve Lee turns up a real gem. He finds a 1. 22 carat stone of exceptional quality during a recent visit to the Crater of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro. He says he hadn't been able to hunt for diamonds in more than two years because a disability forced him to use crutches. Lee returned this year after friends persuaded him to take up the hobby again.

Randall Hall tried to conceal stolen diamonds by swallowing them. For his efforts, he will spend the next six to eight months in prison. Hall was charged with the larceny of two diamonds worth $30,000 from Hinkamp Jewelers.
