Chefs in Thailand have made a 10-course dinner that costs diners $25,000 to eat. Among the delicacies included were Perigord truffles that are worth about $350 each.
Six three-star chefs were commissioned to cook the dinner. It was served at the Lebua luxury hotel in celebration of the "Epicurean Masters of the World" event.
The event was organized by the hotel to promote tourism in the country. The wine alone cost an estimated $200,000. Some of the dishes included in the meal were tartare of Kobe beef with Imperial Beluga caviar and creme brulee of foie gras.
Organizers say most of the proceeds will go to two charities, one of them is a rural development charity that was set up by the king of Thailand.
