The 2007 Guinness Book of World Records, which comes out Thursday, features two people who have broke the mold when it comes to personal grooming - one with fingernails that are 24 feet and 7 inches long, and another whose hair sticks up 24 inches above her head. Sixty-five-year-old Lee Redmond, from Utah, says keeping up her fingernails takes a lot of care.

After her husband said she would not have any luck gem hunting, a Tennessee woman discovered a 1. 30-carat diamond in Arkansas' Crater of Diamonds State Park - the world's only publicly operated diamond site where regardless of their value, the public is allowed to search and keep any gems found. Melissa Lacey of Knoxville said, "I wasn't expecting to find anything and was just picking up pretty rocks. "

A rare Philippine green ring snake has smuggled itself into Germany by hiding in a tourist's underwear. Helga Gurnsteidl, 31, from Nuremburg, Germany said she was returning after a trip to the Philippines when she put her dirty clothes in the washing machine for cleaning.

A mechanic who works for a plumbing company in Pimlico, London was awarded a much-deserved day off by his bosses so he could celebrate his 100th birthday. Buster Martin, who works as a part-time mechanic and valeter, helping maintain 100 vans for a plumbing company, originally plans on spending his first century birthday drinking beer at his favorite local pub.

Speaking on Malaysia's first ever "toilet expo," deputy premier Najib Razak rallied for stricter laws to require business owners to stringently maintain clean washrooms. He added that dingy facilities scare away tourists and reflect badly on the country. He said said the cleanliness and beauty of a country's toilets were a measure of how civilized it was.
