Vienna To Host World's First "Divorce Fair"

Vienna is slated to host what is considered to be the world's first "divorce fair' on October 27-28, with couples who want to opt out of their marriages able to meet with lawyers, consult with experts, and tackle how to best end their respective relationships. So far, some 20 exhibitors, including lawyers, mediators, life-crisis experts, private detective firms, and DNA laboratory representatives offering paternity tests have all signed up for the two-day event.

Police are investing a state forensic scientist who conducted a DNA test for her "personal" use related to divorce. Ann Chamberlain-Gordon, from Okemos, Mich. , used state laboratory equipment to perform a DNA test on her husband's underwear to find out if he was having sex with another woman.

Texas Man Tasered, Catches Fire, And Dies

A man died Tuesday after he caught on fire and was tasered by police in the front yard of his Texas home. Juan Flores Lopez, 47, was holding gasoline in his hand and a lighter. The police report said he poured some gasoline on himself and then threw the container at police, who were not hurt during the incident.

Idaho Man Rams Truck Into Wife's Home

A 48-year-old man was arrested Monday morning after he repeatedly rammed his pickup truck into his estranged wife's home, causing serious damages to another parked vehicle and the house itself. Eric D. Marienau was arrested without incident and was charged with aggravated assault, drunken driving, and other felony charges. According to police, Marienau parked his full-size Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck next to his wife's house, went over to the fence and began shouting for her to bring him a cigarette.

Man Unknowingly Pays His Wife For His Murder

When Simon Luffman paid off his wife in their divorce settlement, little did he know that the same money would be used for his own murder. The man's wife, Yvette Luffman and her new lover reportedly used $2,000 from the settlement money to get Luffman killed. According to The Daily Mail, Luffman, 39, was killed in 2003 by Thomas Convery, who is now sentenced to life in prison. Yvette Luffman and her lover, Wayne Briscoe, were sentenced Wednesday to a minimum of 20 years in prison.
