A judge decided a woman could keep a $40,000 engagement ring after she found out her soon-to-be husband was still married and trolling for other woman on the Internet. Brian Callahan was in the process of divorcing his wife when he proposed to Dana Clyburn Parker with a 3. 41-carat diamond ring in 2002. This came only one month after he received notice in June that his divorce would not be final for 90 days.

In an effort to keep his eight year old daughter quiet, a Chinese man bought her about two dozen Barbie dolls. The plan backfired because he started hearing the protests from his wife instead. The man was so desperate to please his daughter he spent 5,000 yuan ($625) on 10 school bags and 20 Barbie dolls. The father's shopping sprees ended up frightening his daughter who stopped making gift demands but the wasted money angered his wife who threatened to divorce him.
