Turner, ME (AHN)- For the past 15 years, residents across Androscoggin County, Maine have reported seeing and hearing a mysterious animal with chilling monstrous cries and eyes that glow in the night. The animal has been blamed for attacking and killing a Doberman pinscher and a Rottweiler the past couple of years. Residents are now wondering if an animal found dead over the weekend may be the mysterious creature that has mauled dogs, frightened residents and been the subject of local legend for half a generation.

A rare hybrid mutant was found dead in Maine along Route 4 evidently hit by a car while trailing a cat. The weird-looking creature is speculated to be the mysterious animal that has been the stuff of local legend and scared residents for almost half a generation. The animal was charcoal gray, around 40 and 50 pounds with a bushy tail, a short snout, short ears and curled fangs over its lips.

Two journalists, Stephen Nohlgren and Terry Tomalin, from the St. Petersburg Times went around to eleven local restaurants in the Florida bay area to verify whether or not the grouper fish that patrons were ordering were actually what they claimed to be, as offered by the restaurants on their menus. Unfortunately, the survey results, based on DNA testing, revealed that five of the 11 restaurants were actually serving "fakes," which included varieties of other fish, such as Asian catfish called basa, tilapia, a European hake fish, and one unidentified fish that was positively not from the grouper family.

The Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office (DPMO) has identified a U. S. Marine, missing in action since World War II. Sgt. John H. Branic, U. S. Marine Corps, of Madera, Pa. will be returned to his family for burial with full military honors. According to the Pentagon, he will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery on Wednesday.

A team of researchers have discovered an ancient link with an animal long gone. The scientists from Uppsala University in Sweden have uncovered a strand of DNA, believed to be 400,000 years old.
