A doctor with numerous fishing accolades added another record to his collection when he caught a 385-pound lemon shark on fly tackle.

According to the International Game Fish Association (IGFA), Dr. Martin Arostegui caught the heaviest fish ever documented on fly tackle, beating out a nearly 40-year-old record.

He fought the fish for an hour and had to enlist the help of the boat's captain and others to wrangle the fish. At one point the shark opened his jaws and began to attack the boat.

Arostegui claims, "He could have eaten half of me or even all of me in one bite." Finally the battle was won, and the shark was captured and transported in a ten foot live well and weighed in Key West.

Arostegui says, "We brought it in alive and we released it alive. That to me is what made the catch very special."
