A Brazilian beauty queen and model is still fighting for her life at a hospital in Brazil even after doctors had amputated her hands and feet to save her from a severe blood infection.

Miss World finalist Mariana Bridi da Costa, 20, remains on a ventilation machine after being infected with the life-threatening septicemia on Dec. 30, according to her boyfriend, Thiago Simoes.

The infection spread and cut circulation in her limbs forcing doctors to cut her hands and feet so she could survive, Simoes said.

"First she lost her feet, then on Tuesday she lost both her hands," Simoes told The Sun. "But she is a very strong person and we just want her to survive."

Costa was a two-time Brazilian finalist to the Miss World beauty contest. She also vied for the Miss Bikini International pageant crown in China last year.
