We all know dogs love to eat a lot of uncommon stuff like video tapes, watches, socks, papers but it came as a surprise to Tina Burlett when her dog swallowed her custom-made, $5,000 wedding ring.
At first she thought that some thief must have broken into her house and registered a complaint with police. However, Burlett's grandmother was suspicious that their family pooch was the culprit. She had seen the dog chewing her diamond earrings.
When X-rays were performed the doctors could see the valuable ring inside the stomach. "I couldn't believe it," Burlett told The Monroe Evening News for a story Thursday. "I didn't think so at the time, but it's funny now."
Dr. Linda Fung of the Country Creek Animal Hospital later gave Missy some peroxide which let the ring out of the dog's stool.
