Smart Agent 86 has passed away after a battle with lymphoma. Don Adams who is best remembered for his role as Maxwell Smart on the 1960s hit TV show "Get Smart", was 82.
Adams won three Emmy's for his role on the comedy, but later admitted in interviews he didn't like everything about the show.
Adams says, "I couldn't stand the laugh track."
The show had a number of great writers including Mel Brooks and Buck Henry and legions of fans throughout the decades.
Adams is also best known for his voice of Inspector Gadget, a children's cartoon that was created in 1983 and ran for over four-years and spun off dozens of home videos.
Donald James Yarmy was born on April 13, 1923, in New York City, he broke into showbiz in the 1940s as a comic, following a stint in World War II as a Marine.
Adams married and divorced three times. His daughter, Cecily Adams, a casting director and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine recurring guest star, died March 3, 2004 at age 39 of lung cancer.
