One boy's dream came true when 2004 Miss Universe winner Jennifer Hawkins accepted his invitation to his high school dance. But then 17-year-old Daniel Dibley from Bathurst, Australia was devastated when Hawkins changed her mind, citing overwhelming media attention.

An animal-loving couple included the unofficial town mascot - a camel named Matilda - in its wedding ceremony on Sunday. Sitting on top of Matilda, the bride, Sherel Crockett, rode along a horse trail leading up to the Norco Christian church. Crockett and George Stone met while working in a therapy program involving pets, and both currently work as therapists with children who are severely emotionally disturbed. When the two met they found they share a love of animals that is seldom equaled.

The awarding of a luxury sports car to a Buddhist monk is generating controversy in China. The $125,000 car went to Shi Yongxin, who is the abbot of Shaolin Temple in central Dengfeng. He was awarded the car for his services to the city's tourism industry.

One grandmother decided to celebrate her birthday with a flare and fulfill a dream. On her 90th birthday, widower, Mary Armstrong, from East Moseley, Surrey jumped out of the plane at 12,000 ft and plummeted back to earth at 120 miles per hour. Due to her advancing age, she was strapped to an instructor. The Daily Mirror said the grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of nine more, was in a freefall for more than 30 seconds before her parachute finally opened at around 6,000 feet over Ashford, Kent in England.

To obtain a different cool taste and global appeal, a Greenland brewery has declared it will make beer with pure water from an ice cap. "This is an old dream finally coming true," Greenland Brewhouse co-owner Steen Outzen told AFP Wednesday. "Our aim is to make a unique, very high-quality beer. "
