Wal-Mart announces human error was the cause for an offensive link on the company's Web site that recommended a film about Martin Luther King Jr. to potential buyers of a "Planet of the Apes" DVD. Carter Cast, walmart. com president, says the error stemmed from an effort to promote the DVD about the civil rights leader when a business manager grouped "Martin Luther King: I Have a Dream" with three other black-themed movies and assigned the set to the category of DVD boxed sets.

Those Southern California residents needing some extra sleep may find themselves behind bars before they wake-up. The Ventura City Council has given preliminary endorsement to a measure that would make sleeping in public a misdemeanor.

Jerry Dunlap spent more than a year fixing up his 1910 dream sailboat, only to have 15 hefty sea lions sink the 50-foot craft in just one weekend. "I really don't know what I'm going to do with it," said Dunlap, a contractor. "This is a major setback. I'm 63, I don't know if I feel like working another two years to get a boat to work. "
