A Greyhound bus veered off of a freeway and overturned just after 7 a. m. local time, Sunday killing two people, one of whom was seven months pregnant. The bus, which had left Los Angeles at 3:15 a. m. , slid for at least 100 yards after flipping over and hit a tree. A man and a pregnant woman were killed in the accident.

In an ironic turn of events, a man walking home from his 55th birthday party, who friends and family believed was too drunk to drive, was struck and killed by another vehicle. According to police, Benjamin A. Wright's keys were taken at the party.

Hurricane Wilma has left a majority of South Florida without power. In Miami-Dade County, with only 18 out of 2,600 traffic lights working, The Florida Highway Patrol and local police are reminding motorists that all unlighted intersections must be treated as four-way stops. Drivers who fail to observe the rule face a stiff penalty.

According to police, a 94-year-old man hit a pedestrian on his way to a McDonald's in St. Petersburg, Fl. , and continued to drive with the dead man's body on the roof of his car until he was stopped at a toll booth. Investigators say Ralph Parker hit the man on 34th Street in St. Petersburg Wednesday night, then drove several miles with the victim partially on the roof of the car and through the windshield.
