A new medical frontier is being explored by a doctor who wants to help people horribly disfigured by burns, accidents or other tragedies - face transplants. In the next few weeks, five men and seven women will secretly visit a Cleveland Clinic to interview for the chance to have a radical operation that's never been tried anywhere in the world, according to The Associated Press.

A driver stopped for speeding tried to distract a drug-sniffing dog by throwing dog biscuits from his car, state police say. Troopers stopped Jong H. Kim, 23, as the dog walked around the car, Kim threw dog biscuits and debris out the window toward the dog in an apparent attempt to distract it, police say.

Prisoners in Australia are showing a penchant for the gourmet in the items they are choosing to sneak in. Instead of drugs or ice picks, a recent crackdown saw prison authorities intercept packages filled with lamb chops, steak and rice cookers.

Police say a suspected methamphetamine dealer was arrested after tossing a bag of trash from his truck, instead of the bag with his stash, during a high-speed chase. Alameda County Sheriff's Deputy Steve Angeja says 35-year-old Jason Coates was shaken when he was told by officers he had tossed the wrong bag during last week's pursuit.
