At least eight people were killed, including five children when a lone man, reportedly drunk, opened fire in the Laguna neighborhood of Manila.

According to local officials, the suspect opened fire with an M-16 rifle shortly after midnight. Six others, living next door, were injured. The drunken man immediately escaped from the crime scene after the incident.

Police said the nine people were asleep when they were killed. At least five of the victims were under 12-years-old. Police said a family feud might be one of the reasons of the killings.
