A drunken Wisconsin man woke up Monday in his neighbor's backyard without pants, a cashier's check worth over $41,000 and several hundred dollars in cash.

Police said Mark Stahnke filed a report Monday but could not provide details on what happened when he left the bar the night before until he woke up the following morning.

"We're used to hearing weird stories, but with his intoxication we figured this one would be different, that the amount of money wouldn't be exact," Police Lt. William Graham said. "How do you get so intoxicated that you lose your pants?"

All Stahnke remembered was when he met his son at the bar and doesn't know what happened after the meeting.

"I woke up cold not knowing where the heck I was, and I didn't realize it at first because I still had my shoes and socks on," he said. "When I got up, I realized, my God, I don't have any pants."

Police reports said Stahnke's neighbor Tim Curzan's found the pants and cashier's check at the intersection near their house in Wisconsin. Curzan tried to find the owner of the cashier's check twice but failed.

Fortunately, Curzan surrendered all his valuables with his pants to the police, who contacted Stahnke to claim his items including his pants.
