A 22-year-old Russian man sustained only minor injuries after jumping out of a fifth-story window twice after a drinking binge.

The jumper, known as Alexei, drank three bottles of vodka with two friends. After drinking, his wife watched as he opened their kitchen window and leapt out of their fifth-floor apartment, Novosti, a Russian news service reported.

"I did not realize what was happening at that moment," the man said in an interview with Russia's Life.ru news Web site. "Now I can say just one thing - I was lucky."

Terrified, the wife ran downstairs and watched her husband get up and head back towards their apartment. Before the ambulance could get there, Alexei again jumped out of the window.

He was taken to a hospital and treated for a minor concussion and scratches, Novosti reported.

After he's sobered up and been told of his leaps of faith, he pledged to quit drinking.
