The Dutch national collection, along with five museums, are turning to eBay to auction off 1,000 paintings, statues and other items no longer wanted. However, the online fire sale is drawing the ire of some artists. The Institute Collection Netherlands (ICN) says the auction, to be held until October is the first of such magnitude. The goal is to find a new home for artwork the museums say are "artistic merit and historic significance. "

An eight-year-old two headed albino rat snake at an aquarium in St. Louis has died. The reptile, named "We" was not only unique in having two heads and a rare light brown color but it also amazed scientists by its long life-span. Most two-headed snakes perish within a week or two of their birth. According to We's caretaker, Leonard Sonnenschein, more than a million people have seen the reptile since the World Aquarium acquired it in 1999.

An Oregon mother looking for a jacket on the online auction site, eBay, found one that looked exactly like the one her daughter lost at school. Why? It was the same jacket. In January, the mother of a third grade student in Hillsboro, Oregon visited her daughter's school more than once to try and find a missing Columbia Sportswear jacket.

A 1999 Volkswagon Golf claimed to be previously owned by Pope Benedict XVI is listed for sale on eBay. com for the second time in recent years. The black five-door sedan is being sold by the GoldenPalace. com, an online casino noted for buying unusual items. Nearly 70 bidders have thus far named their prices for the car with only a few hours left until the auction ends this afternoon. Photos of the car's registration list "Josef Cardinal Ratzinger" as the vehicle's original owner. Shortly before Benedict XVI became head of the Catholic Church, he reportedly sold the car in 1999 to an Italian man who did not know the car would soon become linked to the current Pope.

In an attempt to give her life a new start, a 45-year-old woman from Minnesota has decided to sell nearly all of her belongings in one huge auction on eBay. Lisa Perry, who has worked as a lawyer in Montana, a communications professor in Mankato, Minnesota, and a bookseller in North Carolina has reportedly put more than 300 items - including snowshoes, a futon, a bed, a Village People album and seashells on the auction that will end Thursday.
