Egyptian security forces arrested a man who committed acts of fraud against at least 900 Egyptians and took over 120 million Egyptian pounds ($22 million) from them, after being on the run for weeks. The accused was arrested in a 2 star hotel in downtown Cairo, were had been hiding for two days.
Abdullah Kamel Mohamed, 50 years-old, sold the apartments in his residential building in Giza to over 900 people and took the 120 million pounds from them after having given them false and illegal contracts.
The man had escaped Egypt to Sudan after many of the people filed police reports against him. The Egyptian authorities cooperated with their Sudanese counterparts to bring him to justice. The man fled Sudan in private jet to Aswan, in southern Egypt, and then came back to Cairo with his wife and kids, where he was arrested.
